I am passionate about contributing meaningful images to the engineering, construction and architecture industry.
Here are some of my photographs as a contract photographer serving the engineering and architectural industry of Houston Texas.
I am often asked to document sites that will be renovated or updated. For proposals and requests for qualifications these images are vital. They depict the "before" state. The images communicate what the site needs. These images help set the stage for the engineer or architect to share their vision of what could be.
As a photographer, I walk and spend a lot of time on the site. The time gives me a good sense of what is needed to portray the state of a site. In this first image below, the existing drainage infrastructure proved to be inadequate for the neighborhood. My images helped communicate the state of the neighborhood infrastructure so the engineers could better communicate it in their project proposal.
Photography assignments for the engineering industry provide wonderful creative challenges. The Almeda Road site consisted of a long stretch of improved road. Communicating with management of adjacent buildings allowed me to get access to higher stories of the building, allowing me to  capture images of the complete project.
Other interesting photography assignments document the process itself, providing crucial updates to the story of its construction.  Many times these images are needed quickly to adhere to the proposal schedule. Below is an image from a client in the process of testing an upgrade a building to withstand future flooding.
What appears to the general public as part of their everyday surroundings is there because of teams of people all contributing to its creation.
